Hello Everyone,
Thank you all for the birthday wishes. It was a great birthday!!!! The big 20. So, lately in our lunches with the members we ask them when was the last time that the missionaries sang?
they always say oh I can't remember. So, we say today Elder Davis will sing for you all. hahahahaha and then Davis did a solo. When they asked why we didn't sing with him, we said we don't walk with a hymn book like him hahahaha. It is great I love it.
So, every Wednesday night we have a little activity and this week they threw a surprise party for me. So Elder Carvalho and I were meeting with the ward mission leader and the branch president so we went and they all sang happy birthday to me. It was so awesome.

Bubba,
It was a pretty good week. Tonight (Saturday night) Dad, Halle, Sammie, their teen living babies and I went over to Al’s sporting goods store. We saw Cody Anderson and talked to him. He works there and he goes to school and lives in Logan. He lives with Carson, Hayden Whitlock, Caden Grover, and I can’t remember who else he said. He got my number and is going to call Neves to come play volleyball. He is a cute kid. Then when we were checking out a girl named Kennady Roberts helped us and she was so nice and cute. We got talking and she said she knew you. I asked to take her picture to send to you. She said to tell you hi and asked how you were doing. Vitor worked today!!! My friend's husband owns a steel company. He needs temp workers just here and there sometimes and called last night to see if Vitor would come help out for a few hours. I am not sure what they did because I haven’t talked to Vitor yet. A girl that moved here from Brazil and had come out to meet him with Gordon Craynor a few weeks ago but Vitor was at the gym. Well, she finally got his number, I think from Hunter and text him. She came and got him and they went with another couple Friday night to the Weber State basketball game and then to “In and Out Burger”. He had really fun and after work she came and got him and they were going bowling. What a great few days for him… Work and social life. YAY! . Grammy came out today and had bought him a new white church shirt and a flower tie.
Monday night Me, Annie, Halle, and Vitor went to Grammy’s to see her brand new car. Talk about SWEET! Grandpa took Vitor and the girls for a ride. It will parallel park itself. It is amazing. They said this is the last car that they will ever buy. Then we stopped at Marge’s and went home. Vitor went to the gym and worked out and then swam.
Tuesday night Vitor made dinner for us. It was so good but also very funny. He had his tripod set up in the kitchen with his phone on to talk to his friend Julia to help him cook. Dad took him to the store earlier in the day to get what he needed. He cooked steaks from our freezer but seasoned them soooo good. Lots of butter, garlic, and onions. Then he made mashed potatoes (he calls them sweet potatoes), black beans, rice, eggs with bacon in them, oh and then he made a strawberry mouse with chocolate on top. It was all very good. Leon and Marge came too. My kitchen looked like a bomb had gone off! I told him I didn’t mind cleaning and I’d do it every night he cooked.
Wednesday I had Halle’s PCCR for school class planning etc. right after school. Then we had young women’s. We have Young Women’s in Excellence next week so we just practiced for that. We dropped Vitor off at the gym on our way and then picked him up after. He just uses my Nat pass and I talked with the manager and I don’t have to go in with him every night as long as he signs in.
Thursday
I had a class at the district office today so I had a substitute. They have built a new building by the district office for the handicapped kids that are older to learn life skills. Katie goes there and is so much happier than she has ever been. They have a store they make things for and then they have to work in the store too. She comes to Lake View for part of her day still but I never see her because it is right after breakfast and I am trying to teach. Dad and Vitor went to Ogden today to run some errands. Then, dad brought him to me at my meeting. We went straight to Logan from there. We had an appointment with the global international people at Utah State. They guy that ended up helping us served a mission in Brazil and could still speak wonderful Portuguese. He had another guy from admissions come in and he asked what language we preferred. Of course they said English for me! Ha! Anyway we fill out the online application for him to be accepted. Then the next step is the visa. If he has school papers proving he is coming for that reason and can prove he came this time merely for a visit and decided he wanted to go to school so he followed the rules and flew back to Brazil. If we have to do this we will but next week Lee Perry is going to talk to some people for us and see if he can do anything to help us out. That would be the best but either way he will go to USU. We are having him enter as just learning English and some credits count towards his degree, but he is considered a full-time student for sports or anything else, the nice guys at USU international said they would employee him 20 hours a week. He can only go to Brigham for 3 credits because they don’t host international students. Dad and I have to prove that we are his sponsors and can afford 30,000 a year since he is out of the country. We can count food and shelter. If he can’t go to spring we will wait until fall because if he starts in the summer he will have to go every summer and go full-time because of how it works with international students. In the summer they will give him more than 20 hours to work too. So, if we do get him in sooner we will be finding buses and carpools. If not he will wait and go with you. Lots to do but I really feel like it will all be fine! We went to Al’s Sporting Goods after our appointment and got a few things. Those people at USU were so awesome and willing to help us. It almost didn’t seem real.
Friday was a good day. I worked and then dad and I convinced Vitor to got to Ricardo’s with us. Annie had to work. We ended up going and getting Halle, Josie Cheney, and Blake Brumbaugh to go with us… Plus Halle’s teen living baby. I figured Vitor wouldn’t leave at 5, so I wasn’t too worried. While we were there and had just ordered Annie came because they had overscheduled people. She just came to visit because she still hates Ricardos. Then, Vitor got a text saying she was going to pick him up… He looked so worried and upset and only had shorts on so she couldn’t pick him up there. So, cute Annie drove him home and then just stayed home. Her friends came over and hung out at our house. Mike, Jace, Sydney Grover, Madi Valcarce, and Mallorie. I just went to bed after I got Halle. I had a feeling not to turn my ringer on my phone off but I did and turned my vibration on. I still hear that and it doesn’t wake up dad. At 12:40 my phone vibrated and it was Vitor. She was bringing them home and they got lost. She put it in her GPS and they ended up over by Rathbones. I answered and he said, “hi mom, can you help us, we are lost”… It was so funny. They were just in front of Jeanette’s house (Penny Reeder’s old house) and he knew that because I took him there on Halloween night. He said he had tried to call Annie first but she didn’t answer. I told him she sleeps through it all. Ha! Anyway they made it. Then, when we all were asleep except him Halle ran around saying something about her finding her baby. On Saturday when she couldn’t remember doing that, Vitor couldn’t believe she does this all the time. Well, tomorrow is church. Vitor is going to the single’s ward which is good for him but I hope he doesn’t stay away because of what Brother Dunford said. Little by little things are and will work out. Then, it will be time for you to be HOME. We will have to rethink the bedroom though.
I love you! I think of you all the time. Your Christmas package will be mailed this week and then they will take it to Brazil after November 20th.
I LOVE YOU to the moon BUBBA!
Cam: Sounds like a good week. So, Vitor will have to come back to Brazil to get a visa? Don't send the package this week because I will see if I am going to get transferred next week.
Mom: Well, we are hoping to take care of it all from here but we have to do it honestly and follow the criteria. When are transfers?
Cam: Next week. Did you look at spring break or anything else? I would like to come back here for like 10 days.
Mom: Sounds fun! Spring break is only like a week. There may be a break in between semesters though. I will ask my friends at USU.
Cam: You're a tough man. Your wife and children will be thankful and your momma too!
Mom: The party Guadalupe gave you was nice. Did you get the pictures I sent her of everyone wishing you Happy Birthday?
Cam: Yeah, it was awesome. Then another sister in the ward had a surprise party for me on Wednesday night. ha!
Mom: Really? Who? What did they do for you?
Cam: So, every Wednesday there is like a little activity and Elder Carvalho and I were meeting with a member talking about missionary work and the branch president came in and said we had a conference with the stake resident so we went to his office. He said, "no, lets meet in here". We walked in and they all started singing. There was cake and everything. It was awesome!
Mom: Aw! Cam... they must love you! Will it be hard to leave?
Cam: YES!!!
Mom: That means it's just that closer to coming home. What is the weather like there?
Cam: It is hot and heating up.
