E-MAIL RECEIVED AFTER PHONE CALL

Cam: I love you guys! Thank you for all you do for me, my sisters, and for Neves.  You made his life.  You have no idea how good this is for him.

Mom:  I love you Cam!  We all do and that's why we do it...  My heart misses you so much!
Summary of CHRISTMAS 1017 SKYPE and DECEMBER'S E-MAILS(it was also his p-day)

Elder Jensen is still district leader.  Cameron was able to do a split this month with his former companion Elder Perez.  He really likes him and has missed not serving with him. He was able to go to Maceio (where he 1st served and where the mission home is) for a leadership meeting.  He left on a Wednesday at midnight and got home Thursday at Midnight.  It was a very quick trip and he was pretty tired from traveling.  But, he said he got to see his best friend Elder Dunn in Maceio.  He was sad to learn one of his friends got send home early.  That week Elder Jensen did three baptism interviews.  In his new area he has made friends with some cool families that are very good to him.  They are also good to stay in contact and keep the Jensen family updated with pictures etc.  He said this is the nicest place he has had to live in on his mission so far.  It is a big city and he isn’t really crazy about that fact.

Talking to Cameron on Christmas was GREAT!  He is very happy and it is obvious he is enjoying himself and making a lot of difference in BRAZIL.  He had a baptism of an 18 year old boy on the 23rd which made him happy.  His mission Christmas party was his area and another one combined.  He made a video and was asked to dress like Santa.  I asked him why they asked him and he said because the call me the mission clown.  I hope that’s a good thing…  His family sent him a package and in all reports it said it arrived at the mission home however; Cameron never got his package.  He was upbeat and optimistic about it but still bummed.  He had promised a very poor member his old shoes when his new ones came and he looked forward to sharing.  Vitor (Cameron’s 1st companion and trainer) is living with his family.  It was cool to see them communicate fluently in Portuguese. He enjoyed talking with his grandparents and catching up with them.  He was able to talk to just Annie and Halle for a little bit and get filled in on their lives also.  Andrew Bott stopped in to tell Cameron hello and that made him very happy.  It was good to see the boys laugh and joke like old times.  He asked about all of his buddies and told us who he had talked to and informed us on how they were doing.  Although he is doing well he did state that he is excited to come home and misses everyone very much.  He has found such love for the people in Brazil as I am sure all do on their missions.  He is also extremely good with the young kids and they flock to him.  He is in a very dangerous place right now and likes to tease his mom a bit about it but in the end reminds her he is safe.  He loves his mission president and his wife that are from Wyoming and talks very highly of them.

I hope maybe when Elder Jensen reads this letter in his mom’s words he will realize he needs to write more each week.  We are glad to see he is busy and focused though.

*We did get report that Elder Jensen's package showed up..."

December 18th, 2017

Cam,

Cameron,

Well, it's been quite a week.

We watched Vitor's basketball game on Monday night.  He is good considering he doesn't know what he is doing.  He said he had butterflies to have us there watching.  The elder's quorom stopped by with bread for Christmas and Ben Small said they will have Vitor come wash semis... YAY!  I hope.  He missed grandma Marge's party because his friend that lived here had a brother commit suicide.  I put him on the bus and then he switched to the train and then took a UBER to the cemetary.  Some return missionary that went to the funeral gave him a ride home because he lived in Idaho.

Andrew came over Saturday night and hung out.  He is a nut.  His family is in Reno because Seth is wrestling.  He brought Vitor home from church and came and ate dinner with us.

Halle is still as fiesty as ever but cute too!  She is very thoughtful of others and her and Annie have become very close.  They say I do everything for Vitor.  Which I do a lot because it's kinda of a no brainer.  He doesn't have a car, I sign him up for anything that he needs to, etc.  But, it's o.k. I try to have strong shoulders but they can hurt my feelings. I try to remind myself it's a compliment that they don't want to share me.  Halle got all A's and H's and Annie got all A's

Marge's party was fun. We all brought a $10 gift and played a fun game with dice so we ended up with whatever gift.  Cooper got size XXXL g-string underwear that Colton bought at Wal-mart.  Ha!  Dad took Christmas vacation and Claire got.  Everything else was normal gifts.  Grandpa Leon gave you $100 and I still have $100 from grammy I need to give you.  We will put in your savings.  They gave Vitor $100 too. He was very happy.

I guess you heard that Vitor hit the fridge...  I mean he HIT it... I am surprised he didn't fly through the house.  he is very lucky. There were tire marks. He was obviously going to fast.  He went and got grandpa at the farm.  Grandpa laughed and said do you want me to call Jason.  Vitor said yes thinking he'd call and explain to dad.  He said and he calls and very bluntly says Vitor hid the fridge.  The frame is almost bent in half.  It's toast...

He is also taking English classes M, T, and W 6-9.  He said they were easy but they got new teachers and after the new year they will have a beginners and advance class.  I know his teacher and she said he will be advance.  heike is an aide...

I also took him to the mall in Logan to pick a gift from grammy.  He got a good looking coat/jacket from the Buckle.

We had the volley ball banquet on Wednesday night.  It was fun but long.  They had it at the Willow Glenn nursing home.  The food was great.  It was fun because they really honored the girls for taking state.

I can't wait to talk to my son.  Tell us when and who and what you want to do.  I am so ready to be done with all this but I am very proud you have stuck it out and learned and grown so much.  I tell you every week but i will tell you again, this will change your life and those that will be closet to you.  It makes me and my heart happy.  If you live with your faith first all the other things will be 1st too.  I love you so much Cam and think of you every second of every day.  I tell my students about you.  Even my last year students have asked when you are coming home.  Be your best self and remember your family is with you every step of the way and loves you.

LOVE,
MOM

Cam:  Sounds like a fun week.  Will you let me know the skype information.  I will skype you at about 8:00am if that is o.k.?

Mom:  How was your week?

Cam:  It was fine.  Sorry I can't talk, I gotta go.  Check Skype info and e-mail it to me.  I will Skype you at 8:00 a.m. on Christmas morning.  Invite grandparents.  I love you.  Thanks!

Mom:  Wow, that was fast but I will see you soon...  LOVE YOU!

Cam:  See you soon!

Cam,

I have been trying to do the #Light the World.  It is fun!  Monday we had dad's work party.  It was fun.  It was in Bear River City at the Christensen's party barn.  Adam got trooper of the year! They had the girl that got Eric's pancreas come talk.  She is just young a married and it was very touching.  Then, there was a young mom that Eric helped when she hit a deer.  He drove her and her children home and talked about his wife to her.  Very touching. It was Vitor's first basketball game and we had to miss it.  I will go tonight for sure. He starts English class Monday-Wednesday 6-9pm.  He is so excited.  He got a gym membership in Willard at the gym so he can go in the day.  The guy gave it to us for $20 a month with no contract because of the situation.  He went to Salt Lake on the front runner Friday and Saturday.  I had him ride the bus to Brigham  He is so use this and I should've thought of it sooner.  Now he doesn't have to wait.  He can just get to a bus stop and go...

Tuesday Annie and I went to Logan to do some shopping.  It was good.  Really cold!

Wednesday the yw/ym went to Ogden to the lights.  We didn't go.  Dad got these delicious organic apples off of a wrecked semi.  We got some carmel and took them around as our neighbor gifts.

Thursday to Friday Halle went to Provo for a FFA leadership training. Annie had wrestling Thursday night and basketball Friday..  The performed the halftime.  Dad and I went.  Hale wasn't feeling well and tired from her trip so she stayed home.  Vitor was at the SLC temple lights.  Annie was ill this week too.

Saturday I cleaned, did wash, finished taking apples to neighbors with dad.

I love you and hope your week was good.  We are counting down to talk to you!  You are my favorite son every and I love you to the moon!

Love,
MOM

Cam:  Good morning, how are you?

Mom:  Good!  I can't wait to talk to you on Christmas.  Do you know where you will go or what time?

Cam:  I was going to ask you if you wanted Sunday or Monday.

Mom:  We will take you either time.  If you have fun things t do on Christmas you should do them but I always want to hear from you and will be happy with either.

Cam:  O.K., i will talk to President and see what he thinks.

Mom: You sure have changed from a year and a half ago.  I shouldn't say changed but matured.  Do you just go to Maceio on the 22nd for your Christmas party?  Do you stay over?

Cam: No, the party is just here this year.  We will have ours separate.

Mom: Really?  Just with your area?  So when will you go to Maceio again?  I just want you to get your package.

Cam: We will do it with Sergipe too. I did a split with Perez.  I worked on a video for our Christmas party.

Mom:  That is awesome you got to do a split with Perez.  So who plans the partyl?  The district leader (ha! which is you)

Cam:  Ya, I am.

Mom:  So what are you going to do at this party?  Did you get your package?

Cam: No not yet...  Sorry, I don't have time today.  Gotta go, love you.  BYE!

Mom:  I love you son.  See you soon!

December 4, 2017

Cam,

It is snowing!!!  Bott, Halle, and Annie are in the hot tub while the snow falls.  It isn't coming down very hard but it is still a little bit of snow.  On the way to church this morning Vitor said it is December and it hasn't snowed yet.  I hope we get a lot like last winter.  Dad is out pheasant hunting.  Andrew went with him for a little bit but wasn't prepared to be out in the cold.  So, now he is in the hot tub... ha!

I am counting the days down until Christmas to see your handsome face.  I found a picture of you that President Taylor's wife posted.  She seems like such a nice lady!  My heart was so full to see your face.  I miss you so much and I know I shouldn't tell you that and that you need to focus but...  My heart hurts and I can't wait to have my little boy home.  I am just looking forward to making it until Christmas when I can talk with you.    I hope you are being safe.  You need to listen to the holy ghost and stay in tune to the spirit so you can stay out of harms way.  Briar is having to stay inside because they had elections or something and there is violence and riots going on.  In the news it says at least one person has died and 20 have been injured.  They had a lock down where people were supposed to stay in and so I guess they were all trying to get purchases in a panic and there were looters stealing t.v.s and etc.  ugh!  Poor Briar and poor Jeanie.  I will pray for Briar and everyone else there.

I am excited for Nicole to come home.  Just a few weeks.  Vitor went to a single's ward Christmas party last night.  He needed a white elephant gift and he couldn't understand why he would take a silly gift to someone.  I had Jackie Christensen keep here eyes and ears open for a team for Vitor to play basketball on.  Yesterday I had to take him to a church to practice with them.  They asked for his number today and want him to be a permanent player.  He is so happy! They were so good to him when I dropped him off.  I asked when I should pick him up and they said oh we will bring him home, no problem.  And the kid Jaxon just asked if he could come get him in the morning so he could teach him more about the rules.  He dunked it and they were impressed but he doesn't know the rules.  People are kind and good to do this for him.  He is also going to temple square tonight with Carolina and his other friend that lives in Ogden.  It is a girl but I can't remember her name.  He is so happy today it is hilarious.  snow, boys his age inviting him to be on a team, and temple square.  Seriously so cute!  Halle walked in and he said I am now a basketball player and I have a trainer...

I love my family very much and would move heaven and earth for them.  Being a mom is so awesome but harder than one knows until you experience it.  I try to make everyone happy and there is always something I didn't do or someone who is not happy...  BUT moms just keep smiling and being patient and loving their family.  There are a few tears but they come from not only hurt but joy too!

Grandpa finished his rocking horse and just needs to give it a haircut.  I love the happiness it bring hims to do this for someone.  I have a boy in my class that has a little brother and his mom is single.  I think we will give it to them and get him some other things to make their Christmas a little merrier.  I don't know maybe we will hear of someone else in need of some love this season.

I am setting a goal to do the "Light the World" challenge from Dec. 1-25.  I love this time of year and it is not just Christmas and gifts.  It is the spirit of the season and the love and kindness in the air.

I guess dad probably told you that he quit Mantua.  I have wanted this for 15 years.  I would love to have him around more but I hope he can to do it.  ha!

Vitor is still jumping around saying I feel like a kid.  I love snow.  I am so happy... ha!

Will you please tell me about your new area? I want to see pictures too.  Can you tell me about some members?  Also, how is your companion, Elder Machado?  I do think everything happens for a reason.  Either he needs you or you need him.  Are you still a district leader?

It is a new trimester and Annie Ellertson is my intern.  I am excited to have her help me with my students and make a difference.

I would like to go watch Cooper play basketball soon.  We need to go watch Seth wrestle too.  Vitor told me he never had any family watch him play volleyball.  When he found out there was a game Monday night at 9:00, he said mom are you going to come watch me play?  Then he asked Halle if she would.  Oh Cam!  You have changed this kid's life.  I am so proud to have a son that would be so in tune to someone else and their feelings, life, future, etc. to be prompted to have him become part of our family.  You are the best son in the whole world and I love you and the fact that I am your mom!!!!

It was Rochelle and Raquel's birthday on Saturday. Grandma Marge's Christmas party is the 16th.  We will sure miss you and Kassie.  Marge brought out a letter the other day that she sent and it said how's Cameron?  I am still planning to wait for him.  HA!

Ok well e-mail me back on my nickelj7@icloud.com

OH, I sent you some screenshots about college and Portuguese etc.

LOVE YOU!!!

Cam:  I am here.

Mom: Hey Bubba.  How was your week? Tell me at least five things.

Cam: It was fine.  I went to Maceio for a leadership meeting.  I left Wednesday at midnight and got home Thursday at Midnight.  I saw my best friend Elder Dunn in Maceio.  My friend got send home early.  I did three baptism interviews.  I also made friends with a cool family.

Mom:  Who is Elder Dunn and where is he from?

Cam:  He is the one from Arizona.

Mom:  I am excited to talk to you!  I can't believe I'll be able to hug you soon too.  I loved seeing your picture on Facebook.

Cam:  This picture is of my loves... ha!  It is Vasselai from Curitibia, Koga from Rio De Janeiro, and the other I don't know too much.

Mom:  They are very pretty. What do you think of the snow?

Cam: I miss it.

Mom:  It misses you too.  Do you have any baptisms scheduled?

Cam:  No, but hopefully soon!  Can you look and see what generals I need and see what I already have and everything?

Mom:  Yes, I will sit down and look and see what classes are offered at the extension.  I think you should go full time.  You save money and with your scholarship money you should make it through the first year, if not more.

Cam:  I love you.  gotta go.

Mom: I love you Bubba!
November 27th

Dear Cam,

This week was good. We only had Monday and Tuesday of school.  Wednesday we cleaned the house and prepared Thanksgiving.  Vitor was making some dessert  and was using the can opener.  When he tried to lift the lid up he sliced his thumb.  I was in the washroom and the girls yelled but they had just hollered at me a minute before that because my potatoes were boiling over.  When I realized Vitor was hurt I went running.  He was yelling something in Portuguese.  He wouldn't let anyone see.  He had it wrapped and I yelled at dad.  He wouldn't show dad.  I finally convinced him to let me see it.  I knew right away it needed stitches.  I called grandma Marge and Latisha.  They couldn't do much so I called a doctor that is a friend of ours.  He is the best and said he would be happy to help us.  Dad and the girls went to a memorial for Eric Ellsworth.  I took Vitor to the doctor. He was sooo scared and begged me to turn around and go back home.  The doctor was so calm and nice with him.  It took awhile before Vitor would give him his hand.  After the shots he was fine.  Stitches need to be in for 10 days and we were on our way.

Thanksgiving was good except I missed my son like crazy. Annie and Sara sat in the hot tub.  Halle had Sami over because her dad had surgery so they weren't having Thanksgiving.  Vitor liked meeting Marti and Tracy and had some good chats with JD.

We did a lot of shopping over the vacation.  We took Vitor to the Front Runner to ride to Orem to see his friend.

Oh Bubba, one month and I can see your sweet face.  I miss it so much and my heart aches to hug you but I am so glad you made the choice to serve the lord.  Your life will be blessed and so will the life of your family.  There is one lucky girl that is out there waiting to meet you and start a beautiful family.

Neves told me it wasn't safe where your at.  I didn't sleep for 2 nights after he told me that.  Last night I slept a little better but I just have a constant sick feeling.  I do know that you are watched over though...

I LOVE YOU!!!  Vitor is dying that I write this much and said you probably don't even read it all.  I told him I figured you didn't but that it is therapy for me.

Cam:  Did Marti and Tracy like Vitor?  How was JD with him?

Mom:  They loved him.  JD was funny.  He asked a lot of questions.  He wanted Vitor to play ball but he couldn't with his stitches.  He asked Vitor all about you.  How is the area?

Cam:  Ha! Did you take any pictures.  It is o.k.

Mom:  Oh my heck...  I didn't take any.  I think I was too busy cooking.  They are coming to Maddox for Christmas so I will then.  Tell me some information...

Cam:  Where we live is way nice.  The house is good.  My companion is goofy.  He is 25 years old.

Mom:  Well, to have a nice place to live is good for a change.  Take some pictures for me.  They sent me a video from your last place saying goodbye.  It broke my heart.  I hope you know how much I love you.

Cam:  I love you.  I am in a ward now and not a branch.  I am in the middle of a big city.

Mom:  What can I do for you?

Cam: I am o.k.  I don't need packages or anything. It is hard to fit things when I transfer.

Mom:  O.K., I love you and I am proud of you.  I will continue  thinking and praying about you everyday.

Cam:  Don't be mad.

Mom:  I am not mad you silly.  I love you and I am always here for you.

Cam:  I want to use Portuguese with my college degree if I can.

Mom:  I found a lot you can do with communications.  There is too many to even tell you but you could do millions of things.

Cam:  Thanks.  I love you gotta go.

Mom:  Oh Bubba, I love you.  See you soon!

Cam:  love you, see you soon...
