Summary of CHRISTMAS 1017 SKYPE and DECEMBER'S E-MAILS(it was also his p-day)
Elder Jensen is still district leader. Cameron was able to do a split this month with his former companion Elder Perez. He really likes him and has missed not serving with him. He was able to go to Maceio (where he 1st served and where the mission home is) for a leadership meeting. He left on a Wednesday at midnight and got home Thursday at Midnight. It was a very quick trip and he was pretty tired from traveling. But, he said he got to see his best friend Elder Dunn in Maceio. He was sad to learn one of his friends got send home early. That week Elder Jensen did three baptism interviews. In his new area he has made friends with some cool families that are very good to him. They are also good to stay in contact and keep the Jensen family updated with pictures etc. He said this is the nicest place he has had to live in on his mission so far. It is a big city and he isn’t really crazy about that fact.
Talking to Cameron on Christmas was GREAT! He is very happy and it is obvious he is enjoying himself and making a lot of difference in BRAZIL. He had a baptism of an 18 year old boy on the 23rd which made him happy. His mission Christmas party was his area and another one combined. He made a video and was asked to dress like Santa. I asked him why they asked him and he said because the call me the mission clown. I hope that’s a good thing… His family sent him a package and in all reports it said it arrived at the mission home however; Cameron never got his package. He was upbeat and optimistic about it but still bummed. He had promised a very poor member his old shoes when his new ones came and he looked forward to sharing. Vitor (Cameron’s 1st companion and trainer) is living with his family. It was cool to see them communicate fluently in Portuguese. He enjoyed talking with his grandparents and catching up with them. He was able to talk to just Annie and Halle for a little bit and get filled in on their lives also. Andrew Bott stopped in to tell Cameron hello and that made him very happy. It was good to see the boys laugh and joke like old times. He asked about all of his buddies and told us who he had talked to and informed us on how they were doing. Although he is doing well he did state that he is excited to come home and misses everyone very much. He has found such love for the people in Brazil as I am sure all do on their missions. He is also extremely good with the young kids and they flock to him. He is in a very dangerous place right now and likes to tease his mom a bit about it but in the end reminds her he is safe. He loves his mission president and his wife that are from Wyoming and talks very highly of them.
I hope maybe when Elder Jensen reads this letter in his mom’s words he will realize he needs to write more each week. We are glad to see he is busy and focused though.
*We did get report that Elder Jensen's package showed up..."
