So today is September 28, 2016 which is the last P-day Cameron will have at the MTC in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I have such mixed emotions. I'm ready for him to get out and serve but at the same time he was safe there. He had made friends, liked the beds, was eating, and I guess I am a little nervous what the next 22 1/2 months have in store for him. He's ready to get out of the classroom and see the sun. I was able to e-mail Cameron back and forth for a little bit this morning. Jason, Annie, and Halle all were able to also. It is nice to come home after school and compare letters. Every conversation adds just a little bit more to wondering minds that want to know! Today's e-mail time wasn't nearly as long as last week's time. As we talked and compared as a family, I have paraphrased what Cameron shared.
He wanted to know how everyone was and how things were at home. He said that everything there was good and nothing really different. He said he was doing good and mentioned how crazy that it was because it was his last P-day at the MTC. He is a little nervous to get out of the MTC but not bad. He just keeps saying, "I am good". I guess good is good. Right? He doesn't get his travel information until Saturday and that stinks for him and us... Halle shared with him how she was with Cooper right at that moment for Hope Squad and he of course said, "tell my favorite Red head hello". Annie had Jason come to get her because she was struggling with her breathing and allergies and Cameron expressed love and concern that she could feel from Sao Paulo. He loves them both very much!
Cameron's words: I've become really close to Elder Morrow and Elder Adamson. There is a Brazilian that has a sister going to Nicole's mission. I told Nicole about her. My favorite thing about the MTC is basketball. I am excited to be outside and see the sun. That's why basketball is my favorite thing here. I love to be able to go outside and move around.

Today was P-day. Thanks for talking with me. Thanks for the candy you bought. It is best to eat at night! The pizza and Coke dad got were awesome! Today was good! I got like 6 letters... Love you!
September 22, 2016
Mom and Dad I got your letters today. It was a good day. I had splits with Elder Greco. He is way cool, he plays basketball with us everyday. The beds are good actually. There is one big bathroom on my floor and my side. So to tell you a little about the Elders. Elder Davis ran cross country in Flagstaff, AZ, Elder Adamson played basketball at Southern Virginia University, Elder Camejo wrestled at Copper Canyon, Elder Hernandez played baseball at Provo high, Elder Evans wrestled in Mesa at his high school and Elder Thiriot is from Virginia. There ya go! Thank you and love you!!
September 23, 2016
Today was good! We did a 3 on 3 tournament. Me, Elder Adamson, and a Brazilian were on a team. We won every game. Elder Adamson is way good he played at Southern Virginia University. Only 11 days left, which is crazy. Tomorrow is prostalyting! I am way excited! Both investigators are getting baptized tomorrow so its way good! Love You!
September 24, 2016
Today we gave all 6 of our Book of Mormons out in 30 minutes. So, that was so cool! Also, our investigators both got baptized today so that is cool! Love You!!
September 25, 2016
Today was good, Sundays always are!! I never had to talk in the MTC so I made it through because next week is General Conference. We made Elder Adamson gain 10 lbs. to break 200 lbs. He did it! He weighed 200.5 lbs. Love You!
September 26, 2016
Got a letter from Dad today and it was great.! Sorry that I don't send very much mail. It is hard to send them in Sao Paulo. The ones I sent took an hour and maybe even a little longer to send. So I just scan them here until I get out in the field. I started the last week of being in the MTC today and it was good! Just the same as always! There is this kid from Draper who leaves tomorrow and we have grown to be pretty good friends. He played with Darius in basketball. I hope Dad has fun hunting and sends a lot of pictures! Love You!!

So I just love this boy and Cameron loves him just as much! Cooper had written Cameron a letter when he stayed out to the fair with Jason and the girls. Cameron wrote him back and stuck the letter in with the ones he mailed us since he didn't have their address at the time. Jason text Coop to tell him he had a letter. Cooper was coming out to help clean out the pig pens that night anyway. I was coming home up the dirt road and Cooper was coming from my house on the four-wheeler with the letter in his hands. He looked like a little kid on Christmas with a huge smile from ear to ear. I slowed down to chat with him for a minute. He said this is the best thing ever, I just want to hold on to it tight. I'm pretty sure my heart was ready to burst at the seems... Candace sent me this picture of him opening and reading the letter. He made it down by the chicken coop and pig pens and decided to read it. Look at the smile on his face! I am so happy Cooper and his family are a part of our lives. Cameron adores Colby, Candace, Cooper, Coco, and Cozi. It's not by chance that people enter your lives. It's what we do to embrace and nourish these people though that determines our relationship. This family is one we will cherish and love FOREVER. Cameron is from Brazil that's for sure!
So the next morning Candace found Cooper's bathroom like this. The letter hanging on the mirror along with a postcard that has a picture of
a statue of Christ in Brazil. WOW! My heart is beyond full to think an awesome boy like Cooper looks up to my son the way he does. I would say we have two special boys with a special relationship!!!

It's Wednesday and that means P-day for Cameron while he's in the MTC! So, every once in awhile I talk to my students about Cameron. Ok, a lot! I had told them he was in a school for our church until October 4th in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I told them it was to learn how to speak Portuguese and then he would go to Maceio, Brazil for the remainder of his two years to teach the people of Brazil about our religion. Well, a little girl in my class came with a note saying her cousin Tyler Hall from I think fielding was in the Brazil MTC also. So today when Cameron had emailed me the first comment that he e-mailed was yes he knew Tyler Hall and that he had just left to go out in the field the day prior his P-day. My little student was so excited to hear that and my other students thought it was pretty cool too. Elder Jensen mentioned in almost all of our e-mails how his time at the MTC was so close to being done. He said his ability to speak and comprehend the language was ok. He seems excited to go out in the field but a little mixed emotions. He has really seemed to enjoy his time at the MTC. Cameron has a way of making friends with people. This is a great trait for a missionary except he will have to say goodbyes. He wanted to know about Nicole's farewell. I told him I took notes and then came home and wrote him, so he'll get all the wonderful details of her special day. He emailed some picture last week and this week. I'm working on getting them all downloaded and then putting them on here. Jason ordered a pizza meal deal for him at the store, Mr. Cheney's across the street. They have all sorts of things, I think I've mentioned it before. He sent pictures of him eating it and sharing with some other Elders. Jason and I both asked him if he had any of his travel information yet. He said no and that an Elder that is leaving next week still hadn't received his. He said that we may not even know any of it because it will be after his P-day. He said he'd try to let us know when he was there safe. I told him that he better find a way! He wanted to let everyone know that he still planned on doing a group e-mail but he didn't have enough time in the MTC. He told me to tell everyone he would do it when he got out in the field. In Cameron's words: The lady hasn't yelled at me yet so I'll keep e-mailing but I am sure I'll have to leave in a minute I love my mom, you are the best! Me: I love my Bubba! He is the best son in the world! Cameron: ha! ha! you're awesome, love you so much!
It's so fun to read Jason's e-mails. A lot of the conversation is the same but he doesn't ever ask me football scores. He asked his dad about the BEE scores and the NFL. He loves to watch and keep up on sports. Cooper sent him a UTES schedule so he would know when they were playing. Jason had also asked him what he did as a district leader. He said that he went to meetings and ran his district's meetings. Jason had also asked how the sister was doing that he had given a blessing to a few weeks back because she was struggling. He said she was doing good.
The girls were able to e-mail back and forth a little bit. He asks them about school and their social lives. It's so amazing to feel their love for each other. There is nothing better than the love we share as a family!
I also got a handwritten letter from Cameron today that was e-mailed at Mr. Cheney's. He had written a little each day. Cameron wrote:9/14/16 Today was a good P-day. We went to the temple, emailed, and walked around town. I found Mountain Dew so it made my day. Then we found a churro stand, they were the best ever. The lady made them right in front of us. The middle was filled with caramel and chocolate. It was sooo good!
9/16/16 Today was good. We played basketball, taught, and learned. Dinner and lunch were fine. I am tired today for some reason. All is going good!!! How is life for you at home? Is there anything going on that's different? Love You!!!
9/17/16 Today is Saturday which is good, that means only a few left. There are no lessons tomorrow! So that's great! It is getting hotter here. I had my last day of splits with Felix and Morrow. I'll be assigned a new one next week. ALL is well! Love You!
9/18/16 Today was Sunday, it was good. We had sacrament, priesthood, and doctrine. We were able to have our Sunday nap, which really helps me out. Then, we also had a devotional. One thing that was said that really stuck out to me was that we need to remember to always be trying to strengthen our testimonies. Because if we just sit idle, Satan can find a way to tempt us.
9/19/16 Today was good, just the same as any other day.
9/20/16 Today was a regular day. Tomorrow is P-day so I'll talk to you then! I have a letter I am scanning for the priest quorum. Will you give it to Brother Burt? Thanks, love you.

September 19, 2016
It's a Monday and two days until P-day and counting. BUT guess what? The snail mail finally came. Jason text me and the girls to say, "we got mail"! I seriously wanted to run home. I had a few stops after school and actually forgot one of them because I was so distracted. There were a few envelopes in the mail. One was addressed to Jason and it also had one to Cooper inside, one was addressed to the Jensen Girls and inside there was one for me, Annie, and Halle, and then there was one with our address but it was to Nicole Hurd (whose farewell was yesterday). I could tell he had written us back after receiving some snail mail from us. He thanked me for checking my phone for an e-mail to see if he made it to Brazil. Little did he know that I had been checking it since about four in the morning. ha! I had told him how Jason and I were able to go with Nicole Hurd when she took out here endowments. He commented how cool that was and that he wished he could have been there for the occasion. Taylor Ashcroft's mom had contacted me to get Cameron's e-mail because Taylor was leaving for Cambodia and wanted to be able to e-mail Cam. Cam said he was able to get his e-mail and e-mail him back. That made me happy to think of these young men that have been friends since a very young age keeping in touch during their missions. I had shared with him that one of my very dear childhood friends(well still is my friend) that had been at his farewell was so impressed by his testimony of reading the Book of Mormon that she had decided to read it. He was excited and said that was really cool. Candace had told Cozi that Cameron was going were the Olympics were at when they came to say goodbye. So, we would ask her where Cameron was and she would point to the sky (because they had also told her in a plane) and say Olympics. Cameron wrote that he thought that was so cute of her. So, I really liked getting answers and comments to things from my letter but the best part came in the last three sentences. I could feel his sincerity in the words and I knew that I would cherish this letter at some very lonely points of this journey.
Cameron ended like this:
Love you so much! Thanks for being the best! Hope all is good! Love you!
I read a quote once stating something like mother's cannot give from a depleted source. I think this is true about any individual not just mothers and something as simple as these sincere words just filled my heart and soul! No depletion here!!!
Cameron wrote Annie to tell her good job on the pigs at the fair. He was also ok with her going to Homecoming. He said the guy she was going with was cool and that he like him... So, that's a plus from a brother. He was so nice to ask her about high school and cheer. It seems so weird this whole Cameron not being in high school but he's in Brazil asking Annie how she's doing. Pinch me someone! He probably didn't realize we would already know when we got this letter that his roommate saw a picture of Annie and he wants to marry her and says he loves her. Now another strange thing is that it's signed, Love, Elder Jensen...(weirdo)
Halle also heard from Cam, oh I mean Elder Jensen. Before he left we tried to say we wouldn't say goodbye but see you soon. Cameron's friend gave us this advice.
Cameron wrote: It was hard saying see you soon but it is good. The plane ride didn't seem that long. I slept a little so it helped it to go by faster. There were a lot of missionaries on the flight. Good job on the pigs, it sounds like they did good. Have fun at school! Hope everything is going good for you! Love you!
He wrote to Jason telling him that he loved us and thanking him for the support. He said how awesome it was that Nicole went through the temple and that it's the best thing ever! He really loves the Sao Paulo Temple and the opportunity they've had to attend. He said when they were in Atlanta his friend Elder Rose that is from Murray, Utah left his passport, visa, and wallet on the plane. They had to run back and it had slid on the side of the seat!!!He said that Sao Paulo was cold when he got there. They had told him it was the coldest day they had, had in awhile. Jason had asked him about Brazil and he said it was pretty polluted but way pretty and green. He said it is hot but not too humid. The first day at the MTC they didn't do very much but after that they've been very busy every day 6:30 to 10:30! They eat the same things every day and that it is like a buffet. Soup, bread, ham sandwiches, rice, beans. chicken, and beef. He still stuck to the his companion was weird but he did mention that he was smart and that helped. He is very close with his district though. The names he mentioned that were his close friends were; Adamson, Camejo, Morrow, and Hernandez.
In Cameron's Words:
P.S.
My Brazilian roommate wants to marry Annie. Today was his P-day and I asked how many girlfriends e-mailed him. He said no girlfriends, I love your sister. Every night he says I love your sister and calls me his brother-in-law!

September 14, 2016
It was three weeks ago Monday since Cameron left. He has three weeks left in the MTC. If they stick to the plan he will go out in the field on October 4th. A lot of us were able to e-mail him back and forth today and then he had some letters scanned that he had handwritten at Mr. Cheney's across the street e-mailed to us. You have to pay for a subscription to do that but it's a little cheaper than postage and he's been able to get letters from us and pictures before his snail mail could make it. We have also bought him cookies, a shake, a care package, and a pizza is ordered for next week. It's pretty awesome and Cameron loves it!
Cameron's e-mail: All is good. It's kind of hard adjusting to the mission life. We are just so busy all the time. It's hard but good. The language is hard. We watched two devotionals this week. One was from Elder Holland and the other from Elder Christoffersen. They were both good. Prostiliting was the best. We were able to give out all six of our Book of Mormons. Splits are good. Everything is going good and about the same. Felix (that loves Annie) left yesterday. My Brazilian roommates left yesterday. So, that was kind of a bummer but everything else is good. I gave a sister a blessing last night because she was struggling. I don't know why she was but she just asked for a blessing. But the blessing helped her feel comfort. My MTC time is halfway done. It is going so fast. I'm not ready to go but I will learn a lot more in the field. My mission president is nice. Brazil is like the other countries out of the states that we have been to. I get a lot of mail almost every night. The other missionaries say I am spoiled. I have the best family. Did you get an e-mail picture of me from a Brazilian man? Some Brazilian took a picture of me with his kids prostiliting and was going to e-mail it to you. Ok thanks mom. Gotta go, love you bye.
Cameron's letters:
no date on this one. I am impressed with how you have found ways to get letters to me. I'm sure Sundays are hard for you but it will get easier. Thanks for all the prayers. The studying can get old. The days are slow but the weeks are fast. Haha! I eat enough, I've gained 8 pounds so far. I play basketball hard everyday for exercise. I am glad you guys are good. Today we went and placed Book of Mormons. I was able to give out all of mine. Some guy got a picture of me with his kids, he said he would e-mail it to you. He was so nice. Hopefully he sends it because I want the picture too. Love You!
9-11-16 Today was Sunday, they are always the best because it's a little bit more calm. We even get a nap which is so helpful. We watched a devotional by Elder Dee Todd Christoffersen. It was way good. His wife talked about how we are chosen by God for the people not for ourselves. It was really good to hear. Everything is good here! Love you!!
9-12-16 Today was good all 3 lessons went well. Just fixed Elder Adamson's haircut. The barber here isn't very good. I fixed it a ton. It looks good now. I also gave my Brazilian roommate Old Spice deodorant. I've never seen someone so happy. He said it was his dream because they don't have it in Brazil. Love you
9-13-16 Today was good, we played basketball and that is the best. We had a devotional by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland. It was so good. One thing I liked was he told us that we represent Christ and wear his name, so we need to go through a portion of what he went through. I gave a sister missionary a blessing. It was way good! LOVE YOU!
Thank you to all of you who e-mailed Cameron. In his own words, "I absolutely LOVE to get letters". Your responses may be small but still know you are helping him so much. He only has 30 minutes to read and respond to e-mails. I think this will change when he gets out in the field but I don't know. Just know that all the e-mails, letters, pictures, prayers, etc. help Cameron out and we appreciate all of your support! I am thankful for all of you and I am sure Cameron is too!

I am doing good. Last week was tough but this week is a lot better. I am doing better with my companion and the language is getting easier. Elder Neil L. Anderson of the quorum of the 12 came yesterday. It was so cool. He said a lot of great stuff. I'm good here. There is one kid I am friends with that leaves this week. He didn't poop for the first 17 days he was here and now he has only pooped 4 times in 5 weeks. It's hilarious! I always tell him good luck when I see him. I forgot to tell you we do splits 3 times a week for 3 hours. I am in a trio with Elder Morrow from Arizona and we are best friends. He is in my district. Then, Elder Felix (that wants to marry Annie) from Brazil. He is a native so he helps us with the language. He is the best! We get along so good. He loves when I do that thing where I flap my cheeks. He laughs so hard at that. It is so much fun! The other day I was picking my stuff up at the end of the day and someone slapped my butt. I looked up and it was Elder Felix. We are going prostaliting this Saturday so that will be fun too. Dang, I am so proud of Mason for choosing to go on a mission. I need to e-mail him. I am going to e-mail Kort too. Please send letters and pictures. Give my e-mail to Lexie and Kendra too. Mr. Cheney's is the best place ever for the things you have bought me there. It helps to stay in contact. Eu amo voce means I love you...
