August 22, 2016
I don't know if any of us in the Jensen house slept last night.  As I laid there thinking my alarm was going to go off any minute I heard the patio door close.  Jason and I both looked at each other.  We sat up and looked out the window to see our son Cameron telling his dog Charlie goodbye.  If that isn't hard!  Cameron has taken care of that dog on his own since they day he got it her.  Cameron and Charlie have gone through two batches of babies that helped buy him his 1993 Toyota truck.  That was the start of the most difficult day of my life.  We got up and got ready and finished finalizing anything that needed to be done.  He had asked both sets of grandparents to come out that morning to say goodbye. I think that word goodbye is so hard because we are going to see Cameron again but right now it seems like forever.  Cameron is lucky to have his grandparents and their influence in his life.  I know Jason and I both are very thankful we have had our parents close and their support in all that we do!  Those relationships and memories are things that last forever.  After Cameron said goodbye to his grandparents, the animals, looked around at his home the farm for the last time we loaded in the car.  We stopped up on the overpass to show him the sign the Earnest's had put on the fence for us.  "We love you Cameron J" (no worries the J was backwards... ha!).  We then past the pasture where many a time Cameron has fed cows.  Jason had put up the sign the girls and I had made with the Brazil flag saying, "See you in 2".  We went to breakfast at Bert's Café.  It was hard to enjoy and choke down the food but we enjoyed visiting with each other.  The ride to the airport was long but we got there, parked, and went in.  It so hard to know how nervous your son is and not be able to fix it.  Jason helped him get his bags checked in and the weights fixed and everything and there we were on the way up the escalator.  When we got to the top of the escalator there were some seats.  We sat down and I wondered how we took the next step. UGH!  We talked, cried, laughed and sat some more.  Then, as if an answer to prayers a young man that Cam had met on social media and met up with at a concert after learning they would be serving the same mission and leaving Salt Lake City the same day came walking towards us.  Cameron's face lit up and he yelled, "Zach"!  I was thankful for this Elder from Murray, Utah.  We met his parents and waited for him to get checked in.  Then it was, "See you in two"!
